Heritage Park Historical Village

Region: Calgary area · Updated

One of Canada's largest living history museums, on the Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary.

About Heritage Park Historical Village

Spread over about 51 hectares on the shore of the Glenmore Reservoir, Heritage Park recreates western Canadian life from the 1860s to the 1950s with historic and re-created buildings, costumed interpreters, antique vehicles, a steam train and a re-created paddlewheel steamer.

A brief history

The park opened on July 1, 1964. Many of its buildings are originals moved from communities across the region, while others are faithful re-creations furnished with genuine artifacts.

RV tips

  • It's a day trip within Calgary. Check the park's website for parking arrangements for oversized vehicles, or visit in your tow vehicle.
